"Bahar Bayram"

Balkan and Middle Eastern Dance and Music Camp

10th-13th October 2008

The camp is 3 wonderful days and nights of Music and Dance Workshops, Concerts, Belly Dance Cabarets and Balkan dance parties, all in the beautiful Numinbah Valley in the Gold Coast Hinterland of South East Queensland.

“Bahar Bayram” 2008 brings together some of the most talented teachers and performers in Australia's Balkan and Middle Eastern dance and music scene. All of them ready to share their talents and knowledge in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Following the success of the 2006 and 2007 camps, “Bahar Bayram” is fast developing a reputation as memorable and exciting experience. The 2008 camp will bring all our friends from the past two years together again and welcome many new people into the “Bahar Bayram” community.

This Festival was organised to help cultivate creativity and collaboration between artists and to encourage the growth of Australia's World Music community. Already we are seeing the fruits of our success with many of the 2006/2007 attendees continuing to get together in music and dance, deepening the friendships and artistic collaborations that began at our first camp.

“Bahar Bayram” is a not-for-profit event planned to grow annually and all proceeds go towards running the camps and building on future camps and events. We're just in it for the smiles!
